severity grade: 3
Inside of right knee, wrapping around to the back.
I'm resurrecting this injury log - thought it was healed but pronounced stiffness recurs every time I resume a normal running schedule. I thought/hoped it was limited to the tendon on the outside of the knee but now I think it is something internal. There is a definite bone-on-bone popping sound when I straighten my leg while lying in a face-down position.
No more running until I see the doctor (which is scheduled for 8/18).
This injury might be more accurately classified as a leg injury than a knee injury. It was primarily inflammation of the tendon along the back inside of the knee that connects the upper leg to the lower leg. Had I not kept trying to run on it, the duration probably would have been only 1-2 weeks. Instead it took nearly 2 months to heal and wiped out my spring season. A 3 week layoff and ice ultimately knocked it out.
