Sick, Flu

2010-03-01 – 2010-03-11

Grade: 3

Miserable with a major head/chest virus. Was hoping to avoid getting sick--Angela's had it all week. Mostly bummed because I know it would be a bad idea to train and it's going to make me fricken crazy to be sedentary for a week. Using the power of positive thinking to heal myself early...

2/6--thought I was over it, but a vigorous ride yest. left me feeling shaky and fatigued. Still feeling pretty hoarse and hacking a lot. Sigh...fighting the impulse to ignore it and just go train hard anyway, which would be my usual reaction. New gentler approach.

Can I say I'm really recovered? Still coughing a bit...and quite tired. Interesting thing is, there are viruses out there that are like mono lite that cause fatigue and take a long time to get better. In this case, not helped by blooming trees which set off my allergies for several weeks starting early March.

Was very good about really taking time off and resting...though it was hard. Training down to a meager few hours for the last couple weeks. Hopefully will hang in this weekend, TT and RR.
