R Knee, Iliotibial Band Syndrome

2006-12-13 - 2007-01-10

severity grade: 1

Pain in hip right below iliac crest. Generally not a problem while running. Hurts the day after. Self-massage helps alot in the short term - I can actually feel the muscle (?) release.

I've been told by RMT and DC now that it's TFL which is associated with IT band. Stretching, self-massage, and rolling it out with medicine ball - hurts like heck, but seems to work. Also, need to stretch more. Did I mention stretching??

Fairly consistent stretching, but I think the think that helped the most was rolling it with a medicine ball and one of those physio roller things. Ouch, but good for it.
