ahr:156 slept:8.0 weight:160lbs (injured) shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
felt pretty good until about 40 minutes in, then my foot suddenly started hurting. hurt after the run also.

Saturday Sep 24

Bike (MTB) 32:30 [2]
ahr:145
first time in groton town forest.

Friday Sep 23

Running (trail) 32:11 [3] 4.15 mi (7:45 / mi)
ahr:157 slept:8.0 weight:161lbs (injured) shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
at vaughn hill. arch felt tight again at the beginning, and better after 10 minutes or so.

Tuesday Sep 20

Running (trail) 36:41 [3] 4.73 mi (7:45 / mi) +150m 4:23 / km
ahr:162 slept:6.0 (injured) shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
despite hurting a little on the road at the beginning, my arch felt surprizingly good for most of the run, which was on nice soft (from rain) trails around vaughn hill.

I'm trying a little experiment to wear my heel-less adidas sandals more often around the house and office, the idea being that it's exercise for the arch to hold them on. and they seem to have good support anyways, so we'll see how that goes.

Sunday Sep 18

Running (trail) 38:30 [2] 5.0 mi (7:41 / mi)
ahr:145 slept:9.0 weight:160lbs shoes: puma h street
running on the trails I found yesterday. at one point I was right across the river from some army firing range. hopefully they were pointing the other way.

Saturday Sep 17

X-Training 47:30 [2]
ahr:140
bike around harvard. found a big trail into Oxbow NWR from the bottom of still river depot rd, just around the corner from where I turned around last time (thought it was off limits). no biking allowed there but skiing is ok, maybe a better option than the flats this winter.

Friday Sep 16

Running (grass) 22:15 [2] 2.97 mi (7:29 / mi)
ahr:145 shoes: puma h street
on the grass at the high school. found a nice loop trail in the woods behind. arch felt tight.

Monday Sep 12

Note
arch felt ok this weekend, possibly because I started taking aleve on thursday, and continued through the weekend. I guess the forest floor is pretty forgiving anyway. we'll see how it turns out after the soreness goes away. and yeah, I'm very sore.

Sunday Sep 11

Running warm up/down 3:00 [2] 0.33 mi (9:05 / mi)
slept:9.0 shoes: VJ Integrator, no spikes
to start
Orienteering race 3:19:58 [3] **** 18.5 km (10:49 / km)
ahr:164 spiked:180/203c shoes: VJ Integrator, no spikes
the mega! caught up to Balter (who came from behind, oddly enough) just before getting off the big island, and we were together pretty much the rest of the time. caught up to boris around 135 stayed with him until 178 when he pulled away.

I started carrying 1.5-2L water, which seemed like a good move after arriving at a few dry water stops. I wore it outside my shirt this time, but it was still rubbing on my neck a fair amount. running in a tero-style top probably would have helped that. I had just about emptied the bag by the end, and I dropped it for the last loop, which was a nice relief.

about 1/3 of the way through, my feet started hurting from blisters, and continued to hurt more as the course went on. it started feeling like the whole ball of my foot was blistered. that was my primary complaint towards the end, and it was fairly demotivating despite the fact that I wasn't quite physically exhausted. I was a bit afraid to take my socks off afterwards, but it turned out not to look so bad.

riding with daddy-o in the NW corner of quabbin (outside 202) we didn't really know where we were going, but we had a ghetto map and the gps. mostly dirt roads or washed out jeep trails.
Bike (MTB) 40:00 [1]

Running (road/trail) 28:25 [2] 3.48 mi (8:09 / mi) +50m 4:51 / km
ahr:146 slept:6.0 (injured) shoes: NB 008
after a short walk with alex, ran from home around the lower vaughn hills loop. arch felt decent, I guess it has been a few days since I ran.

Saturday Sep 3

Note
MIT XC Alumni meet, franklin park
Bike 1:27:28 [2] 24.0 mi (16.5 mph)
ahr:142 slept:6.0 (injured)
on the nashua river rail trail, from Ayer to NH and back. flat. obviously I didn't go the the alumni meet.

Thursday Sep 1

Bike 18:00 [2]
(injured)
Bike intervals 11:00 [3]
4x ~2:50 up a decent hill near home. the nice thing about the bike is that it's actually possible to have short recoveries...it only took 1 min to get back down.

also, my butt seems to be getting broken in to the bike seat. I still don't have any padded shorts.
