Thursday Oct 31

Note
I went to physical therapy today. I will be doing that twice a week for the next month or so. it's going to be rather expensive since it's not covered by insurance, but if it fixes my back, then it will be worth it.

we'll start with stability on monday, but until then I have a packet of stretches I'm supposed to do 3x for 30 seconds twice a day. counting the left/right variations, I have 28 different stretches, which means 84 minutes total per day. yeah that should make me more flexible.

Sunday Oct 27

Strength (climbing) 10:00 [1]
climbing with the monkeys at quincy quarry.

Thursday Oct 24

Note
I had some x-rays today. they didn't show any serious problems with the spine. so I got an anti-inflammatory perscription and a PT referral.

Wednesday Oct 23

Note
it's snowing!
Pool Running 20:00 [2]
I did some aqua-jogging. a mix of deep and less-deep(enough to just touch my feet) water. it would have been really boring except there was some other dude there having a PT session, which was slightly amusing.

Tuesday Oct 22

Strength (nautilus) 25:00 [1]
3x12x60 ub. I've made an effort to include spine-lengthening type stretching exercises on the advice of the russians. I'm expecting the doctor to say I probably had/have a pinched nerve from compression. I'm glad to be going to _sports_ medicine on thursday, since that means they will be more inclined to help me fix it, as opposed to suggesting I wait and let it fix itself. I usually do take a proactive approach to recovery, but in this case it was not so easy since it was hard to pinpoint the problem.

the green course. it was a really nice area. no mistakes, but one black toenail. and my back doesn't hurt.

it was a short blue course, so I went ahead and ran it. a good run I guess, I just haven't been training.

Wednesday Oct 16

Pool Running 15:00 [2]
I did some aqua-jogging and then swam a few laps. back has been hurting the last 2 days despite the fact that I haven't done anything that might hurt it recently. I made an appointment to see some sports doctor about it next thursday.

Monday Oct 14

Note
about 90 mins of mapping today. it was much nicer.

Sunday Oct 13

Note
an hour or so of mapping in the rain. no problem, you just have to write upside down under the clipboard...
Bike 20:00 [2]
it's now inconvenient to go to BSC, so I joined the Waltham athletic club. I get a discount under company benefits, so its super cheap. and there is a pool there for aqua-jogging. hopefully I won't have to do much of that.
Strength (nautilus) 35:00 [1]

walked the yeller course at prospect hill with alex. back is definately acting up again. (and I didn't even do anything) damn.

Saturday Oct 5

Note
I haven't done much this week since my back was feeling a bit funny. but I did spend way too much time playing Catching Features. (saw a demo of night-o mode too. awesome)
