Tuesday Dec 31

Bike 30:00 [3]
ahr:146
X-Training (rowing) 5:00 [2]
just a little bit of rowing, on spike's recommendation. seems like its mostly working my arms. (or they're the weakest...)
Strength 10:00 [1]
still sore so I didn't work too hard

Monday Dec 30

Bike 10:00 [2]
sore today. a novel feeling.
Running 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
ahr:144
I guess running slow is still a better workout than biking.

a new o-sport arrived today.

Sunday Dec 29

Bike 10:00 [2]
Bike 22:00 [3]
this time on the normal bike. I need to find something I can do rather aggressively, otherwise I'll go insanely bored of half-assed workouts. if biking turns out to be okay, maybe I'll get a mtn bike in the spring.
Strength 30:00 [1]
did a bit of the cable-cross too (have to keep up with daddy-o on the skis). and maybe I'll learn to ski in time for the us champs.

Friday Dec 27

Bike 10:00 [2]
better today
Running 20:00 [3] 2.47 mi (8:06 / mi)

Thursday Dec 26

Bike (mostly bike) 16:00 [2]
a warmup and then some stretching. I'm pretty tight from slacking recently. hopefully I will motivate myself to correct both problems shortly.

Tuesday Dec 24

Note
(sick)
I'm up at 4am (since 1) with an upset stomach. mom and dan are too. we ate moose for dinner last night, sounds suspect to me. so I'm catching up on okansas.blogspot.com entries. thanks spike!

Sunday Dec 22

Skiing (classic) 1:10:00 [2] 12 km (5:50 / km)
skiing at prospect mtn with daddy-o's skate skis. I need more skillz to go faster. I wiped out twice, and the second time landed on the gps in my pocket. I think it's dead now, I can't turn it on anyways. that sucks, I was looking forward to taking it downhill skiing (top speed measurements)

Saturday Dec 21

Skiing (classic) 12:00 [2] 1.5 km (8:00 / km)
a few laps around the yard

Wednesday Dec 18

Note
(sick)
I'm feeling a bit better. here's an interesting view of some data from a mapping trip a few weeks ago. the red line is the ground track (pretty accurate horizontally) projected onto the surface. the green dots are the gps altitude measurements (obviously less accurate vertically). height is exaggerated 2x. it's pretty cool to look at though...

in other news, biggins has random terrain working, which is totally awesome. wanna play? pay up. I already did.

Monday Dec 16

Note
(sick)
I have some kind of cold; I could feel it coming on before running yesterday. on the bright side, the latest skogsport that came today has a special article about long legs (with maps), a photo-o, and a course-setting contest, which should keep me busy (as if I have a problem with that) until I'm cured.

Sunday Dec 15

Orienteering 20:00 [3] *** 2.3 km (8:42 / km)
Running (trail) 35:00 [3]

Thursday Dec 12

Bike 5:00 [2]
Running (treadmill) 20:00 [3] 2.46 mi (8:07 / mi)
ahr:162

Tuesday Dec 10

Bike 5:00 [2]
Running (treadmill) 20:00 [3] 2.5 mi (7:59 / mi)
lunchtime run inside.

Monday Dec 9

X-Training 10:00 [2]
warmup for stretching

Sunday Dec 8

Orienteering (memory-o) 38:00 [3] *** 4 km (9:30 / km)
spiked:8/10c
two memory-o courses at ogilvie town forest. the map is quite close to the office, so I guess I could run there during the week.

Saturday Dec 7

Bike 10:00 [2]
at the gym after an hour or so of mapping.
Running (treadmill) 25:00 [3] 3.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
ahr:160
includes 5 minute cooldown. my latest plan to get healthy is to work on stretching out my hip flexors. I think tightness there contributes to back-arching (which I want to avoid) I haven't been working on them as much as the hamstrings, and they certainly get tight when I'm sitting in a desk chair all day.

Thursday Dec 5

Bike 5:00 [2]
Running (treadmill) 20:00 [3] 2.44 mi (8:12 / mi)
ahr:159

Wednesday Dec 4

Bike 10:00 [2]
Strength (pt) 20:00 [1]

Tuesday Dec 3

Bike 10:00 [2]
Running (treadmill) 15:00 [2] 1.76 mi (8:31 / mi)

Monday Dec 2

Pool Running 20:00 [3]
aqua-jogging intervals, 12x(40s on, 20s off). feeling okay again today, perhaps because I've worked out some of the tightness.
Strength 27:00 [1]
pt at home.

Sunday Dec 1

Note
oops, this morning it hurts. maybe because I missed a dose of anti-inflammatory last night or because some important parts are tight from yesterday. I need to make sure I keep up with the stretching.
