weight:167lbs shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red

Sunday May 29

Running (trail) 1:29:00 [3] * 12.5 mi (7:06 / mi)
ahr:154 shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X
matthias hooked us up with the big map of the area and we ran around for a while on lots of long, straight trails.

Saturday May 28

Orienteering race 31:04 [4] *** 5.1 km (6:05 / km)
spiked:8/9c shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X
a fun run in some frenchy forest. mmm, nettles. no o-gear/pants, although I did manage to borrow an extra compass from boris, which helped because it was quite flat in some places. it went mostly well, which was good considering I tend to screw up flat continental stuff. I was even chasing a pheasant (weird looking bird!) at one point. at first I thought it was the cartoon road-runner.
Running 25:00 [2] 2.78 mi (8:59 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X
some more running, and picking up a few controls

Friday May 27

Running (road) 1:03:00 [3] * 8.4 mi (7:30 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X
a run around paris in the evening after it cooled off a little. from the 15th to bois de bologne, to the arch, and back via the tower. I meant to wear my newer running shoes on the plane, but forgot, so I had only my worn-out pair along this weekend.

Wednesday May 25

Running warm up/down (road) 26:12 [3] 3.6 mi (7:16 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:162lbs shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
Running tempo (road) 17:25 [4] 3.0 mi (5:47 / mi) +30m 3:30 / km
shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
tempo run on mill st with mark. felt pretty good except for the last two minutes, which were up a hill. this was more like mark's marathon pace, so he easily dusted me when I dropped off at the end. we sort of guessed where the last mile ended.
5:45, 5:39, 5:55?

Tuesday May 24

Running (trail) 44:25 [3] 5.73 mi (7:45 / mi) +50m 4:41 / km

some loops in hayden woods. should be crappy weather all week.

almost back to normal. felt fine when running except for some tightness.

Wednesday May 18

Bike 35:00 [2]
(injured)
could almost walk normally today, although my hamstring is tight. the bike felt good today. maybe some running soon?

Monday May 16

Note
(injured) (rest day)
maybe a little better today. won't think about running until I'm walking normally. biking might be good tomorrow though.

Sunday May 15

Orienteering 1:28:16 [3] 11.77 km (7:30 / km)
ahr:158 (injured) shoes: VJ Integrator, no spikes
running from baldwin hill to beech hill (across the train tracks) and back again. 5 minutes from the end I tripped/fell and hyperextended or twisted my knee. doesn't hurt when I'm sitting around, but when walking I sometimes get sharp pains. hopefully just a sprain? I had planned tomorrow off anyway.

Saturday May 14

Running 48:53 [3] * 8.35 km (5:51 / km) +420m 4:41 / km
ahr:154 shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
running at wachussett. up to the top and then down and around on some roads.

Friday May 13

Running warm up/down (track) 17:30 [2] 2.25 mi (7:46 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
Running tempo (track) 17:36 [4] 4.8 km (3:40 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom Waffle
a relatively easy tempo run on the track at harvard park. had problems with a cramp that started during the warmup, and came back halfway through the workout. that made it hard to keep the intensity up at the end. at least the beginning felt pretty good.
90, 85, 85, 86 (5:47)
88, 87, 87, 87 (5:50)
89, 89, 89, 89 (5:59)
new track shoes are good, I was slightly worried about stressing my arches, which have felt tight lately. I think they will be fine.

Wednesday May 11

Running 59:18 [3] 7.8 mi (7:35 / mi)
ahr:159 weight:162lbs shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
lunchtime run, hot (76F).

Tuesday May 10

Running (trail) 49:10 [2] 6.15 mi (7:59 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red

Monday May 9

Running (trail) 36:30 [2] 4.5 mi (8:06 / mi) +30m 4:56 / km

Sunday May 8

Running (trail) 55:00 [2] 6.73 mi (8:10 / mi)
ahr:148 weight:162.5lbs shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
felt sluggish and lazy today. had to fight the urge to take a nap in the middle of the run... and now that I remember, I was also overdressed, which could explain some of the sleepyness.

Saturday May 7

Running 30:30 [2] 4.0 mi (7:37 / mi) +50m 4:34 / km
shoes: Adidas Resp Tr X red
raining

Thursday May 5

weight:166lbs shoes: NB 906
my season is over now, and I guess I'm taking the week off, but I needed an excuse to shower (and stretch)

Sunday May 1

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +50m 5:23 / km
shoes: VJ Integrator, no spikes
Orienteering race 1:19:26 [4] *** 10.5 km (7:34 / km) +440m 6:15 / km
spiked:15/17c shoes: VJ Integrator, no spikes
a decent run, although I was a bit hesitant on the downhills because of slipperyness and soreness. slipped and fell really hard once on the side-hill to 8. I'll be feeling that for a few days.
Note
after inching along 84E for almost an hour on the way home, we bailed on that and took 34 over to 15, which was much more pleasant. went by paugusset and osbornedale, but figured we'd had enough for the weekend. anyone sit all the way through 84?
