| despite all the rain, there was still good cover on the fields, probably because it's so flat and the grass is short. did a few laps of alternating skate and classic. the snow was wet and soft, and then it started raining again. | ||

| as expected, the snow was pretty good for skating, except in the more shady spots where it wasn't as solid, and I did faceplants. 10 minutes at the soccer fields, and then drove up to the HS, where there had been snowmobiles all over the place, except on the track. did some laps, and played around on the infield. | ||

vacation day today, and snowmobile trails in harvard. the usual connector from right across the street only had footprints so far, I found out why down the trail, where it was totally flooded out. at least it was also frozen over, so I could sort of slide across. may have to skip that part for a while. the rest of it was wide and very solid. its been about a week since I stopped the aleve, and I'm still feeling ok (not great though). actually today the other foot is a bit tired from the snow running. probably skiing or biking tomorrow. | ||

| drove 3 minutes down to the forbush mill rd soccer fields. making my own tracks on a 900m loop. first time around was pretty slow, but it got better after that. there were snowmobile tracks around, so I spent some time on those also. I'm thinking that it's probably not worth it to get a Weston pass this year, since I probably won't end up going 18 times, and the free skiing around here is almost as good for a workout, unless I want to do some skating. alternatively, great brook farm is much cheaper and probably way more interesting. more stretching last night and today, and the foot seems slightly better again. | ||

| at a place in milford called vietnam. trails a bit flooded out in some places, and I had to carry the bike around 1-ft deep partly frozen pools. trails all over the place, having that map along didn't help very much. from the gps, it looks like I stayed mostly in the north part. my foot actually felt pretty good after friday's run, and much worse after biking. strange. | ||
