the mega! caught up to Balter (who came from behind, oddly enough) just before getting off the big island, and we were together pretty much the rest of the time. caught up to boris around 135 stayed with him until 178 when he pulled away.
I started carrying 1.5-2L water, which seemed like a good move after arriving at a few dry water stops. I wore it outside my shirt this time, but it was still rubbing on my neck a fair amount. running in a tero-style top probably would have helped that. I had just about emptied the bag by the end, and I dropped it for the last loop, which was a nice relief.
about 1/3 of the way through, my feet started hurting from blisters, and continued to hurt more as the course went on. it started feeling like the whole ball of my foot was blistered. that was my primary complaint towards the end, and it was fairly demotivating despite the fact that I wasn't quite physically exhausted. I was a bit afraid to take my socks off afterwards, but it turned out not to look so bad.
