Note

We ended our trip early after a storm knocked out the power to our place and rain was forecast to continue through Saturday. Of course the power came back about an hour after we left, and it ended up not raining much more until Saturday evening.

in Shenandoah region for the weekend. Ran around the land where we are staying looking for access to the national forest ridge trail up the hill. Eventually found a wide steep trail straight up the spur, though it fizzled out before the top. I kept going through some rocky but fairly open hillside to the ridge, and then followed the decent-but-spider-webby trail along the top for a few minutes before returning.
