In NY for a distant-relative-in-law's bat mitzvah on Sunday. 3rd-cousins with the munchkins, apparently. Snuck out for some top secret Harriman training. Up the hill from the closest access point I could find, past 4 signs that said to turn around if I didn't have a map, water, charged phone, and plenty of daylight (no, no, no, no). Took the white trail further in, it was quite rocky even by Harriman standards and a little overgrown in places, not the best for cruising but still a fun adventure. It looks like I turned around just short of a major trail intersection, and crossed another one twice without noticing it. View of Manhattan from the half-mile mark.

Cabin john trail from Bradley, where most of the parking is now a construction zone. the trail has been nicely rerouted at the south end of this loop, and also in a new part of the north half since I was last here. gps is pretty messed up for the first 15 minutes though.

with Samantha, who decided that running might get her out of some other responsibilities. She reeeally didn't want to run around the neighborhood, so we went back to Cabin John and did the nature center loop.
