Running (Morning ramble) 29:49 [2] 6.3 km (4:44 / km)

Legs insanely heavy, not sure why. Combination of the previous training, insane heat and lack of breakfast perhaps.

Decided I'd keep people up to date with my resurgence of training brought on by the fear of the RatRace Dirty Weekend on 11th May. If anyone fancies sponsoring me and "my" team please do so via:

This is a truely stupid challenge I'd be surprised if I do half as well as I hope and will be very happy if any/all of the others I'm running with succeed. Good to see many of them pick up the training in the lead up to this too, great reason to get fit and anyone who finishes deserves a massive pat on the back. Maybe I've over hyping it but more than likely not...

Orienteering race (Long) 1:45:02 [3] 16.3 km (6:27 / km) +205m 6:04 / km

Pretty poor show from myself. Navigation easy, although the map a bit odd. Had 2.5m contours but not enough contour detail to justify it and also to mask the most intricate area of contours were rides marked every 30m or so, also unnecessary.

Anyway, was running ok but knew before I started I really should have taken some energy with me, especially due to the heat. So about 2-3k from the end I completely faded, barely getting myself to run and taking long breaks at the controls. I can pinpoint exactly when I started realizing I was heading this way but that's not really relivant as it needs to be caught much earlier. Not that I had anything I could do about it.

Think up to about 15 mins due to energy loss.

Great weekend anyway, met Marian again, some new friends and got to explore Berlin!
