Oxford City Race
Great to be back in the city again. Been suffering with a cold the last ten days and actually felt quite bad last night, but picked myself up and actually felt OK once I got going, despite a steady stream from my left nostril all the way round!

Great course. Engineering department threw me both times, which is unfortunate, but it probably did the same for everyone. The BIG mistake came in St Anne's where I got the controls out of order and had to re-do them - the 640m over-run cost me 3:30! OUCH! At least I handled it quickly - just restarted and got back on it. Disastrous though, as this could have been quite a good run otherwise.

It shows in the results: 44th out of 77. The St Anne's mistake cost me 12 places. Hard to justify any gains out of improved navigation round the Engineering area as I was just rubbish, but I might look at my time excluding that anyway. And not sure what the cold took out of me too. I've been running 12+ km in the Street-Os so to run 14.5km in 75 minutes doesn't seem too far off the pace. Maybe my navigation is just sloppy at the moment.

8:43/km; over-ran a ridiculous 69%.

Really very disappointed with my result.
