BKO Bloom Wood
Lovely day for it: dappled sunshine through the beech trees, not too hot, bluebells across the floor of the wood. Beautiful. Good pace all the way round until controls #17-18, when yesterday's ride started to catch up with me. The last four were a struggle and I could barely muster a sprint finish.

No major mistakes, and pleased to be 1/7 on finishing (it was only temporary - Colin D ran 63 something, but I'll take the momentary glory!). Race pace was 8:00 min/km, and over-ran 17%. 13th out of 39, which is an improvement.

Great long ride this afternoon. Great temperature, but felt slightly windy on the return. Got the nutrition bang on - a Clif gel cube every 25-30 minutes and felt fine all the way round. 12% faster than 18 months ago. Very nice.
