Aforementioned winterlope. If I learn to navigate better and run quicker I would do better. I’m probably not the only orienteer that can say that though. Unfortunately my legs were a bit achey, and I managed to add in an extra km of distance through somewhat iffy navigation (
https://www.scottish-orienteering.org/download/117... I took in number 1 between 5 and 6. Not the best of routes perhaps) so not the most successful outing. It’s a rapid course though so if you want to see what the quickest you can navigate 5k in the dark this is the course for you. Suggest you don’t add an extra k if that is your aim.
So that’s the night o season over, and many thanks Graeme and all the other planners for some great courses. Good to get me out the door. Good to stop me descending into home-schooling-induced afternoon drinking every night. Really excellent for Laurence, Freya and Eilidh who have probably done more map runs than any other kids in Edinburgh. Having the MapRun flexibility is v useful if you have kids. Generally there is running or football, rugby etc etc on so it’s often hard to get to sprintelopes when you have to be at a set time and place, although the socialising is always a big bonus if you do get there. I think the MoW squad are organising the first sprintelope so we might have to see if we can master the MapRun technology. The ocad technology might be hard enough.
