Orienteering - race 40:00 [3] 3.0 mi (13:20 / mi)
FVO Wednesday night muiravonside
Not a good evening. The whole family came which meant lots of faffing and stress, which was eased when I saw my mum and dad had turned up. No split start stress any more, and great to see my dad who I haven’t seen for a while.
But I have had blocked sinuses / fever / headaches / snot coated throat since trying to run a mile race with a cold. I just really struggled to breathe tonight, not with lung capacity, more sinus throat capacity. Irritating This is just what I got all of September, October, November, December last year when I barely ran. Rubbish!
Was doing ok until 8-9-10 which I was terrible on, then on crossing the track to 13 I stumbled, fell heavily on my knees, felt really sick and dizzy and very much gah. Could not breathe, rethought I was going to be sick etc. Staggered a bit up the track back, but was feeling really dizzy and was walking all over the place. So sat for a bit. This was all viewed by the kind Simon hunt who was supposed to be shadowing juniors. He suggested we might sit for a bit before walking back together. So I’m not sure I’m going to run on Saturday as I am all together a bit too ill, but I’ve made a new friend so it’s good.
L knee swollen and bloody. Right knee smaller cut.
