Off-road running 44:45 [3] 6.0 mi (7:28 / mi)
slept:6.0

Ok time considering how appaling i felt. Drained from the other major stresses in my life just now.
4 PM

Road running 40:42 [3] 5.8 mi (7:01 / mi)

Definately a new record. Was very late so was worried the nursery would leave the kids on the doorstep.

12 PM

Tempo run intervals 40:00 [5] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
slept:7.0

20x1min w 30 secs. Very short w /up/down as short on time. Truly minging weather. Horizontal sleet of the type edinburgh specialises in this winter.

7 AM

Off-road running 46:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:45 / mi)
slept:7.5

Carrying a rucsac so sluggish.
4 PM

Road running 42:00 [3] 5.8 mi (7:14 / mi)

This might be a pb. Slight tailwind, though more of a side wind.

slept:7.5

No running all weekend again as doing house stuff. In fact i have just been looking after the kids while ray does house stuff but can't go running with 2kids in tow. even turned up to the grudge match hill race ready to run but laurence was really miserable and there were no kids there for him to play with and noone they knew well enough to leave them with so i couldn't run. Frustrating and depressing weekend all in all. Not sure why i bother trying as it takes so much effort on so little sleep and if i can't end up doing the training i feel i need to, how can i perform with confidence in a race. Crap. I am not going to the east district xc now. Too far to go to run shittily. moan over! Grrrrr!

7 AM

Off-road running 43:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:15 / mi)
slept:6.5

Feeling perky despite a 'fresh' headwind. looking forward to getting blown all the way home.
4 PM

Road running 44:00 [3] 5.8 mi (7:35 / mi)

Was going well but then a mile in whacked my arm on a bollard - like i did the other day. It was so sore i was nearly sick. For amoment i thought i was broken. I am going to have a nice big briuse there in the norning. After a bit of a walk i got running again, though i had to move my garmin to my other arm as i was struggling to hold my arm up.

Thursday Nov 24, 2011 #

Note
slept:8.0

Go running? i wish! another thursday without training as i spend the whole day removing wallpaper and ray takes trotter training in the evening, while i look after the kids. He was such a genius standing for trotter captain. shame tt coincides with my day off so no running to / from work opportunities either. Have to use up my latent energy from tonight the rest of the week.

7 AM

Off-road running 46:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:45 / mi)
slept:4.0

Stratospherically tired as got so little slwep last night, stressed as ray gave me a 'lie in' (this is not relaxing - just makes me late for work), legs tired from the shock of intervals last night. It was just mentally easier to run to work than to think of all of the things i'd have to unpack if i was going to drive. Headwind. Whacked elbow off a bollard a mile in. Today has got to get better.
4 PM

Road running 42:00 [4] 5.8 mi (7:14 / mi)

Run home, stopping at wickes on the way for 45 mins in order to by a bathroom suite. Life is so exciting! The first 3.4 miles were done in 23 mins, then stopped at wickes, then plodded home.

Tuesday Nov 22, 2011 #

6 PM

Tempo run intervals 55:00 [4] 5.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
slept:6.0

Tonis drills & intervals. Directly after physio had done ultrasound and acupuncture so was not going to go eyeballs out from the start. Felt shocking and slow as hadn't done much training last week, but pleased with the times. 7.49, 7.57, 3.34, 3.33, 3,38. stopped after 3rd k as i thought that would be enough. Foot not much better but physio thinks it will just go away eventually..

Tempo run (trotettes) 54:00 [4] 7.0 mi (7:43 / mi)
ahr:141 slept:5.5

Trotettes from phyllis's. Was trying to take it easy but noone else was. Very hilly 7 miles eyeballs out. Could have done with going a little slower. Good to get out though after redundancies ar work today. Not me but sooooo stressful!

Tuesday Nov 15, 2011 #

Note

Change of plan for training this week. Easy to get rid of foot problem. I don't do x-training. It doesn't work with my lifestyle. so this week rest tues, trotette training wed, 3 laps of the meadows thursday, run in friday, park run saturday and i am not sure if running sunday will fit in. Maybe long run saturday instead. 15 mins strwtching wed and fri. Thursday and saturday strength.

Off-road running 45:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

4 PM

Road running 38:00 [3] 5.0 mi (7:36 / mi)

Stopped early at the butchers

Sunday Nov 13, 2011 #

Note

41 miles easy week. Very easy but the hard weeks had been hard so that's ok. Now another 3 hard weeks one easy, if the sore foot allows. need to focus more on strength and flexibility
7 AM

Tempo run (orienteering training) 1:21:00 [2] 6.5 mi (12:28 / mi)

Orienteering bimble around arthurs seat and hunters bog. A short course and a long line (that seemed to take in quite a bit of gorse). set off at 6.45 am so the first bit was a headtorch run. Foot still dodgy.

2 PM

XC / road / hill race 40:00 [5] 4.5 mi (8:53 / mi)
slept:8.0

Braids and i won! really excited. Went hard from the start as you have to with that race and felt good. thought i could take the lead on the ascent so went for it as it is important to gut yourself going up at braids to get a good position for the rest of the race where the course really narrows. Hit the top with a few metres lead on some girls who can really shift so just kept running hard and not looking back the rest of the race. Finish seemed never to come. Delighted, but very concerned about a slightly sore foot. Seeing physio tuesday evening.

Friday Nov 11, 2011 #

7 AM

Off-road running 44:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:25 / mi)
slept:8.5

Jogged in. Tried some sprints but too early - tired legs Got loads of sleep last night as i couldn't do much else with my sore eye. Tempted to run home as it is much less hassle than getting the bus, but want to feel fresh as poss tomorrow. Running to work/ home doesn't really feel like training anymore as i tend to daydream the time away, but i suppose 6 miles at 7.30 mins / miling must have some impact.

Thursday Nov 10, 2011 #

Note

For the 2nd time since joining ap a month or so ago, i have a rest day due to an eye scratch. not caused in the forest for once but caused by a glancing blow by lucy's tommie tippee. Great! i am in the usual agony!

Off-road running 45:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

4 PM

Off-road running 45:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

7 AM

Off-road running 44:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:25 / mi)
slept:6.0

Feelibg entusiastic this morning. Good running esp as i carried a litre of milk the last mile (breakfast). at work i seem to be surrounded by sickly colleagues!
4 PM

Road running 45:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:35 / mi)

Run home. Was planning to do intervals then anything other than run home was vetoed by crap work needed to do with the new house. Did 8 x 8 secs on the way home and some drills. People thought i was mad. Hopping is easier if i stretch first i found. Now sneezy abd worried i am getting the work cold. Necking berocca. Stressful at work this week too. when soneone goes off with stress they fail to see that everyone else gets stressed too.

Monday Nov 7, 2011 #

Note
slept:7.0

No running as busy. Probably for the best.easy week this week after 3 good hard ones hopefully means i'll feel good for braids.

Sunday Nov 6, 2011 #

10 AM

Orienteering - race 55:00 [5] 6.0 mi (9:10 / mi)

Trains-type session. Planning your own legs but running gaffled head to head. Feeling good to great physically, really buzzing at times, but have to learn to calm down and plan properly before burning off, and slowing down before the controls. Need to work on core stability to improve in terrain. Great to feel my old self again in the terrain. After barry buddon i thought i was doomed to being a joe jogger forever more. Planning 1.806 execution 1.917
11 AM

Tempo run 1:05:00 [3] 6.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Run back from oing to the base for the weekend. Great run, great views great company. Really good weekend. I now know i feel i know what i nead to focus on to ensure my results move up a level next year. Planning my routes. Strength, flexibility and agility. Staying injury free. Great to get to the pub and gget really chatting to the younger squad members. Good to get to the pub anyway infact... Last drinking until after woc.

Road running intervals 1:00:00 [3] 7.0 mi (8:34 / mi)

Was rather obliged to take trotter training as ray is ill with an ommm bug. Took trottwrs on tour for 6 x 3 mins in the braids farm road direction. Followed by wee bennets. brilliant. Could have done without intwrvals tonight as i have tired legs . foam rollering to questuon time now, so can't be so drunk..

Road running 44:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:25 / mi)

Pretty tired as really not long after lunchtime intervals

Tuesday Nov 1, 2011 #

7 AM

Off-road running 46:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:40 / mi)
slept:5.0

Felt good after day off yesterday and acupuncture last night. Sleep levels getting worse though.
4 PM

Road running 46:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:40 / mi)

Planned to do intervals, but am really suffering from lack of sleep. I know from experience that the only way to survive on little sleep is to simplify life as much as possible. No trotettes this week, as little evening running as i can get away with. 12 mile training in a day is still ticking over nicely.
