Note

58 mile week. Not bad for a relatively easty one but need to watch the niggles. Could do with more sleep. Looking forward to catching up at the squad weekend next weekend. guaranteed to be able to get off to sleep for at least an hour and a half during the inevitable drugs in sport chat.
7 AM

Tempo run long 1:24:00 [2] 10.4 mi (8:05 / mi)
slept:7.5

One big lap one small lap of the bay. Niggles stopped me going further.

Tempo run tempo 48:00 [3] 6.3 mi (7:37 / mi)
slept:6.0

At aberdour as Ray is OMMing. Did run to Dalgety Bay, round and back, with a hard 2.7 mie section in the middle. Achilles / calf pains. Going to fashion a foam roller out of some tins of baked beans tonight, and see how far I get on tomorrows long run. Looks like laps of Dalgety Bay await tomorrow very early, in order to get some mileage in before going back to the 'burgh to let Stevie come in and advise on plumbing the new place. Exciting stuff. Bed at 8 tonight I think! Absolutely exhausted.

ahr:138 slept:5.5

Garmined the route for once as i got a garmin pick up from hone for the first time ever. Thought it was going to be 5.5 miles all the way but it was actually 6.01. 5.8 on the way home though as i stop at the nursery. Chilly. Felt ok.
4 PM

Road running 44:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:20 / mi)

Picking up new house keys on the way.

Tempo run intervals 45:00 [5] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

20 x 1min w 30 secs. Felt good. Nice doing reps on the meadows, rather than my usual venue in Aberdour. At least there were other runners around. I love this session, and I love doing it myself, and feeling the satisfaction of being able to push myself to the limit without anyone else. 290m each rep (fkw I usually do), hr 170 max in the rep, and 150 lowest in the recovery. Glutes only started to hurt on no 19.

Off-road running 49:00 [2] 6.0 mi (8:10 / mi)
slept:6.0

Weary legs, weary head, heavy bag, weary me. slow jog. Would have drove / got the bus if it wasn't easier logistically to run. Rest day tomorrow maybe as might have to go into work on my day off.

Off-road running 48:00 [3] 6.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
ahr:140

Tried to take it easy on purpose to rest legs for intervals tonight
6 PM

Tempo run intervals 1:05:00 [5] 6.6 mi (9:51 / mi)

Intervals and drills with Toni. 2 x 2k in 8.01, 8.07 and 4 x 1k in 3.37, 3.38, 3.42 and 3.39. HR 165 when doing reps, and 140 during rest. Getting there. Felt shocking when I went out, but during the actual reps it was ok.

Tempo run tempo 32:00 [4] 4.5 mi (7:07 / mi)

'easy' run with pete kidd. I've done easier xc races. Felt much better than expected and boosted my confidence and mood
