Orienteering - race 1:22:01 [3] 10.4 mi (7:53 / mi)

Burnbanks. Black. Borderliners.

Lovely day, lovely event. Terrain not all that technical, but just really good fun. Stuffed 6, 14, and got stuck in the gorse on the way to 17, but not really orietneering seriously, just a nice long sunday run. Borderliners put on an excellent event. Start and finish near the car park, near the most intricate terrain, very pretty string course near by, very friendly volunteers indeed, glorious weather and, joy of joys, a cake stall!

Orienteering - race 30:30 [3] 5.1 mi (5:59 / mi)

Jk relay

Women's first leg. I was first leg as j had to get back to ray's parents pronto after. Thought it would be low key, as most good people are on last usually but it was stacked! Ran with cat, Hollie and Tessa for most of it, though they had a different 2nd half. Got ahead from the start but was caught when I dropped 30secs at 4 (gulley, what gulley - looked like a path to me!!!) and then got ahead again on the second half where I had a different gaffle. Then dropped 40 secs at 15 to end up with the others again. That 5.1 felt like hell, but I did 5.6 in the same time on Saturday. Think I relax loads more when I am by myself, as I was going much better in the 2nd half where I had my own gaffle. Great fun. Blasting it rather than steady nav, but the nav is easy enough here anyway (when they map the paths as paths and not gulleys...). What a fun weekend. For something that I spent the last few months dreading it has been so good. We had a giggle on first leg, great relay training.
