Update

Back running 4 x a week, and will probably do this in training weeks until after woc / 6 day to prevent injuries flaring up again. Building up to reps, longer runs and back to back.

Yup, woc is back in the plans. Booking the tickets. Getting excited! What I am going to run, I don't know. All I know for sure is it definitely isn't sprint, which would cripple me. I'm trying to be patient with the running build up, but it is tedious. Doing loads of cycling / aquajogging too.

Looking forward to having more fun at the international races. It is hard being an athlete and a mother. The killer is lack of sleep and hard training just don't mix. Add into that stresses of races you have trained all year for, and it's easy to see why woc wasn't 100% fun last year. Not a lot has changed this year. Still very little sleep and lots of injuries, but I hope my approach to orienteering has changed. I'm not going to beat myself up over mistakes this year - it's pointless. I'll prepare as well as possible, give it everything, enjoy the orienteering and accept the results. So fingers crossed for continual improvement to my injuries for the next 4 weeks!
