Orienteering - training 51:00 [3] 5.6 mi (9:06 / mi)
slept:8.0

Blakeholme training. Middle race training.

Great forest, esp the green in gummers how, which isn't really green, just nice orienteering. Fun, fun, fun. Stuffed number 5 loads, got offline on 7 but corrected, and v small misses at 3 and 14. Just great. Much less rocky than yesterday, which was good as I can run on tough stuff in Scotland as when you fall you have a soft landing, but it's hard to commit in the lose rocky stuff in training.

Off-road running 15:00 [3] 1.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Warm up / down. Tired, but happy. I missed the morning session as I was feeling a bit exhausted, and this was a good move as I got the best session of the weekend.

Orienteering - training 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Trains on Rusland Beeches. Fun but I can't commit physically in such a rocky, slippy, steep area in training. Lots of prancing down hills went on. Nav pretty good.

Off-road running 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Warm up / down

Orienteering - training 1:07:00 [3] 6.5 mi (10:18 / mi)

Haverthwaite long training. 1:15. Map disintegration problems, the same that many others had. Map bag needed for next weekend. Fun. Way too high on 3, then twisted ankle going to 5. It eased off. I navigated 10-2 instead of 11, then thought I had corrected but was in the wrong block of forest. Too lazy / tired to relocate, I spent a while mooching about until I sorted it out and ran on. Its good though. I realised I haven't been seriously lost for ages. I haven't had to rely on the 'I could be anywhere within a 300m radius' skills for a while.

Cold, v wet cycle. It wasn't quite cold enough to sleet, but nearly. Brrr. Bum much better for the day off.
1 PM

Intervals - long endurance 50:00 [3] 6.5 mi (7:42 / mi)

7 x 3mins w 1 min. 4 out into the wind, 3 back with the wind behind me. Nice to get out. Hip felt much better today. I don't think I could have done this had I not taken yesterday off.

Note
(injured)

Set off on a run but the pain in by bum was too sore.

Tired and grumpy.

Cycle commute 1:00:00 [3] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
slept:7.0

Nice but colder.

My hip seemed better this morning, but it couldn't have been much worse than yesterday morning. I have had this pain before. I think it is just an inflamed SI, and the pain is nerve stuff.
6 PM

Road running 20:00 [3] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Intervals - long endurance 10:00 [3] 2.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

3 x 1k with 90secs before my hip got too dodgy. Haries. 3:35-ish.

Drills 15:00 [3]

Off-road running 47:20 [3] 5.7 mi (8:18 / mi)
slept:7.0

Very stiff si/ hip this morning indeed, but probably due to not doing any warm up/down at all yesterday - I walked there chatting to Zoe and back chatting to Dawn - BAD. My hip / SI clicked in a satisfying manner eventually allowing me to get out running. Braids and blackford again. Nice on a sunny day like this to get the views.
9 PM

Off-road running 36:50 [3] 4.2 mi (8:46 / mi)

Late night jog over to Frandy's via braids to pick up my bike.
