Note

The morning after Lucy's sleepover birthday party. I got very little sleep. Spend the day trying to tidy up, and trying not to get her cold.

XC / road / hill race 19:55 [3] 3.0 mi (6:38 / mi)

Park run at Portobello

Saturday morning is football, and I was not looking forward to watching Lucy play in the pouring rain. Then she got a lift from a friend and suddenly I had 90mins to myself. Parkrun. If I cycled like a nutter I could still make it. Got to the start line and tucked in behind someone who looked sensible, and sat there the whole way. What a lovely guy he was, and paced me perfectly to just under 20mins. I am super pleased with that. Best 5k for ages.

Road running 16:00 [3] 2.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Warm down. Got to get the 5 miles in!

Road running 40:30 [3] 5.12 mi (7:55 / mi)

Late night 5 miles, after a busy day. Around Arthur’s seat

Wednesday Apr 25, 2018 #

5 AM

Road running 43:27 [3] 5.6 mi (7:46 / mi)

Along the canal to meggetland and back to work, Home to grab orienteering stuff then on to the Ackland’s.

Orienteering - training 34:11 [3] 4.48 mi (7:38 / mi)

Sprintelope long. I was weary at the start, and made lots of daft mistakes.

Tuesday Apr 24, 2018 #

8 AM

Road running 25:28 [3] 3.0 mi (8:29 / mi)

To work via the castle esplanade and Princes street gardens. So not exactly flat.
12 PM

Road running 30:31 [3] 3.68 mi (8:18 / mi)

A lunchtime jog to Stocksbridge and back via the water of Leith, so not flat either.

Monday Apr 23, 2018 #

Road running 39:59 [3] 5.2 mi (7:41 / mi)

Saw physio (Stephen Mutch. Remembering the receptionist’s name has proved most beneficial over the years, when trying to sweet talk her into getting me a short notice appointment). Lots of preferably flat road running, and no short reps and some exercises. He is SUCH a good Physio. Manages to make sense of the most bizzare symptoms and come up with a feasible diagnosis. It’s that tendon that Hollie did near the ankle.

Ran home. It was ok.
