Orienteering - race 41:00 [3] 3.5 mi (11:43 / mi)

Scottish relays. Women’s open first leg. Running a ‘b’ course.

Set off slow as ever - and everyone stopped at the far side of the bridge and blocked the path. Got past a few going up the hill, but took a poor route to 3 and then didn’t find it either. Dropped lots here. Was with Ray and Fraser from here on in. Tired up the hill to 5 then got into it after that, and ran well to the finish. Must learn to do a warm up!

Orienteering - race 1:31:00 [3] 6.5 mi (14:00 / mi)

Scottish Champs, Dalbeattie. W21E 6th

Rough, tough course. I was going ok but made lots of big mistakes. 15mins worth in total. I think I just no longer take orienteering seriously enough and just punt around, guessing where the controls might be. Not good. Not quite sure what to do about it. Great area though, unique in Britain.

Laurence walked around M12 cause of his cut knee, and Lucy stormed W10 to take victory. Ray came 2nd on M40, the same course as me, even though I beat him by about 9mins. I’m running that class next year!
