Off-road running 36:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Down Cowgate to AS and round the back of Whinny to the top, across pipers and then over the crags and back. It’s started to rain, which is a joy as it means hopefully the fecking dire busker that has been operating directly under our window the past few afternoons will feck off, and the street performer that has been drawing whooping crowds across the street will also feck off. Either that or we are thinking of clubbing together in the office and buying an air rifle. Bring on September.

Trail running 45:44 [3] 4.64 mi (9:51 / mi)

Packing the wet awning up all by myself earns me the right to go for an explore of the trails out the back of Comrie Croft as Ray takes the kids biking.

There was a cool drizzle over the hills, which was just what was needed. Very nice gentle outing.

It was a great 6 day. The three new areas were good, the planning, organisation and maps were good. Results were excellent, and special thanks to whoever gave Lucy joint 3rd when strictly speaking the results said 4th so she probably lost out on . She had been leading all of day 6 when just before the prize giving someone downloaded and beat her by 1 second and bumped her from 3rd to 4th. Lots of tears. Whoever gave her joint 3rd made my day!

Did Marie-Claire manage to reunite those pants with their owner?

Orienteering - race 33:00 [3] 2.85 mi (11:35 / mi)

S6D day 6

The rest of the family had an early start, which was good as it meant I could take lots of pics, but bad as it was an early start. Nearly missed my start in the end due to chatting to people. Unless I caught about 11 mins on a middle I was coming 2nd, so was happy to jog around day 6 like the old lady I am.

Fun.

S6D day 5

10k on Craig a Barnes was always going to be a big ask. Took a gel and lots of sweets before and 2 gels with. I didn’t run out of energy at all so this was good. Disappointed to get that moor bit at the end which was a bit dull - more of the forest at the start would have been good. Great re-mapping of the forested northern spur though. 6 controls in here were such fun.

S6D day 4. Culteuchar and Dron

Not feeling good today. Hungry at the start after forgetting to eat during a busy morning at the string course. Couldn’t breathe. Just like a few weeks ago when I jacked at Martin’s. heart rate fairly low, unable to push it any faster as I was struggling to get the air in my lungs. Again felt better when turning back. Some minor problems with 10 and 11 and totally and utterly ran out of gas after that. Dying up the hill at the end.

What I could do with is 10k and 425m tomorrow in Craig a Barnes to really freshen me up.
