Note

Pretty much 24 hours of scream, feed, vomit, repeat, with enough hugely cute smiles thrown in to remind me that is all worth it. Looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

11 AM

Walk 1:30:00 [3] 3.6 mi (25:00 / mi)

Now in the Lakes again. Over Gowbarrow to a lovely lunch in a pub in Dockray.
1 PM

Off-road running 55:20 [3] 4.75 mi (11:39 / mi)

Followed by a sprint back via aria falls with Loz. Lucy was going back the straight way we came in the morning (1 mile less, bit more climb) and we were racing her. I had had lots of sandwiches, crisps, salad, chips, some sticky toffee pudding, pavlova and a pint of shandy just before, so perhaps not my finest hour, but I was giving it my all as it sort of occurred to me that it was probably bad parenting to let a 10 year old run over a Lakeland fell by herself. Ray and Bertie were walking behind her, but still.

Very glad to see her at the campsite having beaten us back. She is totally mental. She is a normal whiny child, loathing to be climbing hills, until it is made into a competition and she turns into a girl possessed. It’s very impressive.

Off-road running 49:10 [3] 5.0 mi (9:50 / mi)

Pre-breakfast run with Loz. He was stopping quite a bit as I think his legs were tired from yesterday. I appreciated the rest. This was a nice route up and down Lathkill again.

Walk 5:00:00 [3] 15.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

In Derbyshire now, camping v near Lathkill valley. Walked down to Bakewell for perhaps the most unhealthy lunch ever (pastry products followed by Bakewell pudding and tarts) then walked back. Then walked up the rest of the valley to a pub for dinner and back later. Got a max heart rate of the day shitting it in a field of cows. Ah what fun. At least 15 miles / 40,000 steps. The kids did well.
