Stretching 15:00 [3]

9 AM

Road running 1:19:18 [3] 9.2 mi (8:37 / mi) +174m 8:08 / mi
ahr:147 max:154

I entered 7 hills of Edinburgh quite casually, without really reflecting on whether I am capable of such things. I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t be able to do the road running, but 9.2 miles was fine this morning.

LOVING not having to drive miles this weekend. Just LOVING it! I’m so sick of it.

Stretching 16:00 [3]

XC / road / hill race 25:31 [3] 2.96 mi (8:37 / mi) +163m 7:22 / mi
ahr:148 max:168

Faskally parkrun. I was pushing Bertie for the first bit before the start of the loops when Laurence took over. Was feeling good and fresh for once so it’s a shame I couldn’t go hard from the start. It was extremely satisfying running the rest of the race thinking the people just in front of me must be punters and therefore must be overtaken.

Then we dropped off Laurence and Emily at ScotJOS and due to lack of petrol were forced to Aberfoyle. Took B up the Birks, mainly on my shoulders (didn’t want dads). He proved a capable descender though. Then did a 3hr gardening stint (we can now get up the front path - yay) and then my garmin told me my body appreciated my restful day. Seriously???

When you head to trotter training with the aim of doing the social run and missing the social run and having to do Castro hill reps instead. What have I done to deserve this.

4 x 800 on the meadows with Alison and Abi. Pulled up on number 5 (of 6) with a hip twinge. Operation don’t-get-out-sprinted-every-time shows green shoots.

After the first few when I thought I might die my breathing got used to it and my legs had stretched out and I felt ok.

Road running 8:14 [3] 0.9 mi (9:09 / mi) +10m 8:50 / mi

When in Moray take a map and head to Culbin.

Lucy, Ray and I gatecrashed Michael Bish’s training for Loz, Finn, Finlay and Adam. Lucy and I did 2 courses then headed back with B while Ray joined in the fun. As good as you can imagine.

Cheers Michael
