Orienteering race (Long) 1:34:51 [3] 16.5 km (5:45 / km) +460m 5:03 / km
shoes: VJ Bold 2019

Maximus O Meeting Long WRE - Navaluenga. (30th)

Pretty good overall.
Tricky long without much time for any mental breaks. Managed well technically but started to lose the pace after an hour or so. I thought I had some fat reserves but clearly not.

Great 4 day trip - perfect weather and really cool orienteering.

Run 5:00 [3] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)

Didn't need much warming up

10 AM

Orienteering race (middle) 42:11 [3] 6.25 km (6:45 / km) +250m 5:37 / km
shoes: VJ Bold 2019

Maximus O Meeting Middle WRE - Valle Iruelas.
This was pure fun! A Pine forest full of Giant rock features and contour detail.
A few mistakes..
Made a mess of 1 (90s) Boulder in a boulder field and no good attackpoint.
Settled down after and started flowing nicely.
Picked a good route on the long leg to 7 which got me the current fastest split.
Wrong side of a 15x10m Boulder on 10 - punishing!.
Poor decision to try straight to 17 (90s) and finally a bit of a hunt to find 18 (45s)

A decent run on a very technical course.

5 PM

Orienteering race (sprint) 16:06 [4] 4.1 km (3:56 / km) +17m 3:51 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 35

Maximus O Meeting sprint - Navaluenga.

Awful run. Getting distracted by others going wrong, cars blocking entrances and roads and reading a description of 'under bridge' as 'on top of bridge' and totally ignoring the obvious flag underneath! lol

At least my legs were moving well.
