Running warm up/down 12:30 [1] 2.1 km (5:57 / km)
ahr:145 max:160 shoes: More Mile Cheviot 3 Blue

To the start with Saz. Having a mare with my pocket so set off a bit late (sorry Saz) jelly babies and whistle in hand. Mumma Reynolds saved the day at the start and safety pinned my pocket for me so I could then put everything in it! Also had some Chester hugs and did some drills.

SHI Individual.
Not great. Physically I am not in any shape for a race this long and mentally I just don't cope with races like this very well. I don't believe I can do it and therefore I can't. Didn't really get into the terrain or map properly and kept getting stuck in brambles. And still have a cough still hanging around.
Very scrappy run. Lost time on 1, bad route and then bad direction, also bad direction on 4. Bit of faff at 7 SI unit was broken, I thought there wasn't a punch and ran off but then got called back because there was. Could feel my brain going on the way to 9 which was only half an hour in. Lost time in the circle and then big mistake on 10. Sarah R caught me up at this point and I was running near her until 16. Took completely different routes on them though. After 17 it was just about surviving the run. But made it worse by taking bad routes on 18 and 19.
Not happy at all with my run but didn't really expect anything much better.

Note

Absolutely no motivation for a WD, went to the beach with the gals and iced my ankles in the sea for a bit/took some selfies.
On a more positive note, ankles seemed fine after running.
