Note

When every session in the last week has involved the phrase "feeling tired" it's time for a break. Also didn't feel like training so I didn't.

L Knee a bit sore after the weekend. Not sure if I jarred it or whether it's overuse but will keep an eye.

On another note. Wondering if I have a mild allergy to something as I have had a blocked/runny nose for like 2 months. It comes and goes with how bad it is and at first I thought it was a cold but I don't really have any other symptoms. Not sure I can do anything about it though, just a bit frustrating that I haven't felt really good on a run or in a race for a v long time.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.2 km (6:49 / km) +40m 6:15 / km
shoes: More Mile Cheviot 3

Orienteering race 2:03:59 [3] 10.52 km (11:47 / km) +320m 10:14 / km
ahr:136 max:160 shoes: More Mile Cheviot 3

SOL3 Glen Affric. Avg HR is very low for a race and I think I started too slowly. Wasn't really feeling great at the start, and struggling with breathing. Didn't really start running harder (and concentrating better) until I started seeing people again at 10. Was completely on my own for about 45mins and I struggled to push in the rough terrain. Slightly off in the circle on 2, 4 and 6. Too high on number 8 and I knew I was going wrong as I did it but didn't quite have the discipline to catch it early enough. Started getting a bit tired and was too far S on 17, a bit too far N on 18, totally messed up 19. Lost confidence on the way and veered off massively. Quickly relocated and then found it fine. Finished and wasn't really that tired which I guess is a positive?!
Got to sort the tactics on long races/keep getting fitter so I can run harder for longer!

Running 1:06:22 [3] 9.2 km (7:13 / km) +530m 5:36 / km
ahr:135 max:164 shoes: More Mile Cheviot 3

Run with Andrew from Glenmore to the Ryvoan Bothy and up over Meall a' Bhuachaille and back to the road. Feeling very very tired, perhaps should have turned round at the Ryvoan Bothy but had forgotten quite how long/steep the uphill was. Had to walk quite a lot of it and couldn't even go for it on the downhill either as my legs were too tired!

Note

Did the overnight count for the election so didn't get to bed until 5am. Been a bit of a weird day, had planned to run but really didn't feel like it and severely lacking in energy so just did some yoga/stretching, got quite a big weekend planned anyway.

Note
(rest day)

Absolutely no time for anything, and feeling very tired anyway.

Wednesday May 4, 2016 #

Running 58:00 [2] 9.0 km (6:27 / km) +45m 6:17 / km
ahr:134 max:173 shoes: Asics GT2000

ESOC Hash Run.
Wasn't sure whether to go but very glad I did as it's always good fun :) From Janet's round Stockbridge and Warriston. Seemed to always pick the wrong way to check but that is always the way haha. Went a few new places too.

Note

Very tired after helping at a schools orienteering event involving over 900 (!) 9-11 year olds...

Running warm up/down (Treadmill) 15:00 [1] 2.35 km (6:23 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2000

Easy jog and some drills.

Running intervals (Treadmill) 16:26 [5] 4.0 km (4:07 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2000

Wanted to do intervals but not on my own round the Meadows so did them on the treadmill again to keep me going. Feeling a bit sick after a v big slice of cake but made it through despite big struggles on the last rep.
4 x 1km (90s ish) Again difficult to time rest completely accurately as the treadmill takes ages to speed up and down, don't think there's a pre-programmed thing that's suitable.
4.08, 14.5kph
4.08, 14.5kph

Running warm up/down (Treadmill) 23:34 [1] 3.3 km (7:08 / km)
