(injured) (sick)

Eurgh, why am I still ill... Hopefully I will shake it soon!
Ankles have been niggly which is annoying because I haven't even been doing anything apart from physio exercises. Need to watch how much time spent on feet though.

Aqua Jogging 30:00 [1]

With Beth who is an absolute pro. Not really sure what I was doing, will improve with practice, but good to try it out. Probably won't do this that often but nice to have the option.

Swimming 15:00 [1] 0.5 km (30:00 / km)

Just a little bit of front crawl as I was at the pool. Also wanted to feel like I had actually done something. Breathing feeling rubbish, won't come back to the pool until my cold is actually gone.

Stretching/Physio 30:00 [0]

Popped round to the gym to do some proper stretch and roll.

Strength and Conditioning 45:00 [1]

With Beth, most of the warm up, skipped some of the single leg stuff.
Deadlift: 40, 50, 70kg 3x8 nothing too heavy
DbBP: 16, 16, 16kg 3x8
Core x3: Roll outs (10), side leg squeeze thing (15 each side), toe touches (40).

Stretching/Physio 20:00 [0]

Have decided to chill until I have shaken this cold and give myself some time off before starting the cross training properly.
Ankles not feeling great after the gym and yesterday's physio exercises. Need to make sure I'm not making anything worse.
Doing my best to keep positive with everything (struggling a little), gradually filling up my weekends with coaching instead of racing.

(injured) (sick)

Trip to the physio (Pete). Useful but not fab news. Long story short, ligaments in L ankle have been overstretched by going over on it quite often, this can't be fixed except by surgery, but I don't need that (yet). In general ankles are weak (not news) and I have slightly overdone it. Need to let them recover: 4-6 weeks off.
Can swim and will do that as main exercise with some cycling to keep me sane. Need to keep up the stretching and do some exercises to strengthen. Another appointment next week to check out other areas (hips, knee) and see if there's anything else I can do to help the problem.

Stretching/Physio 10:00 [0]

Feeling really rubbish with this cold so just physio exercises.

Monday Sep 19 #

Pilates/Core 30:00 [1]

"Body Balance" not as good as some of these classes I've been to but it was ok. Some of the moves and single leg stuff really aggravated my ankle though.
Got a physio appointment for tomorrow.

Stretching/Physio 40:00 [0]

Feeling crap so didn't bother with any cardio, proper rolling sesh instead.
