ESOC Ultrasprint Course 1
Nothing too earth shattering to report! Good fun as always and no real issues on any of the courses. Bit faffy in the maze on the 3rd course I did but otherwise it was all fine.

Keeping the legs moving between courses with Saz

Orienteering 3:10 [3] 0.41 km (7:43 / km)
ahr:167 max:180 shoes: Asics GT 2000 v5

Maze only course, 17 controls in the maze, tricky to keep track of where the next control was!

Climbing 1:00:00 [0]

With K-Rey, Saz and Calum.
Good fun, managed to complete the one I couldn't last week after watching K-Rey do it! And did a few new purple and orange ones. Might take the plunge and get the climbing bolt on when I renew my membership next week...
Quote of the day (guess who): "OMG there's blood up here" .... "Oh wait it's me!" Almost fell off the wall laughing.

Thursday Aug 31 #

Swimming 45:00 [1] 2.0 km (22:30 / km)

Was meeting Tess which made sure I got up!
500m WU/D + 4 x 200(50)
Feeling quite tired so the "efforts" weren't really much faster than the WU

Running 47:53 [2] 7.8 km (6:08 / km) +80m 5:50 / km
ahr:135 max:158 shoes: Asics GT 2000 v5

Down the river to Inverleith Park and back through the streets. Feeling ok once got going, starting to enjoy running again, woooo! Trying not to get too overexcited with the mileage (I know, it's literally nothing big, but I get injured once I'm ~40km a week...) but going running is so much easier than going to the gym...

Strength and Conditioning 5:00 [0]

Quick bit of physio

Stretching/Physio 30:00 [0]

Stretch and Roll, everything tight. Was noticing R hip when running.

Tuesday Aug 29 #

Spinning 30:00 [1]

Easy peasy, some with Kirstin. No time for longer D:

Cycling 40:00 [1]

Most horrible headwind on the way in, not what's needed on a Monday morning...

Running 1:18:09 [2] 13.25 km (5:54 / km) +260m 5:22 / km
ahr:145 max:176 shoes: Asics GT 2000 v5

2/7 hills of Edinburgh: Corstorphine and E Craiglockhart.
Kirstin was doing the whole thing, and I knew I'd be tempted to as well but I couldn't because I would break myself if I did, planned to turn for home at E Craiglockhart as lots were joining at Braids.
Good fun with Kirstin and Shallot, felt quite quick at times but that's the good thing about running with girls who are faster than you because actually I could keep it up. Really struggled in the last 3km home as I was v tired and then on my own but I made it. Ankle not feeling great after but that was the risk I took, shouldn't have ran Sunday really... One day maybe I will do the whole thing...
