5 AM

Orienteering race (Harvester Leg5) 1:14:29 [5] 12.75 km (5:51 / km) +325m 5:11 / km
shoes: VJ IROC O-shoes

Official distance: 10k, 325m climb

Solid run overall. Feeling the legs from the training this week, even cramping up while climbing a fence three controls before the finish.

A couple of silly errors though
#3 - drifted right when trying to be too direct, had to come back along the road
#6 - searching a while as the control really wasn't clear. Eventually found it, but cost a minute or two
#15 - some very messy vegetation areas here which caused me to overshoot, but not too far
#24 - picked up a path (tractor track) at a slightly too steep angle coming out of #23. This wasn't mapped and brought me to the road at the completely wrong place. Was very confused and ended up running 40m climb up (and down) a hill i didn't have to... cost quite a lot! Caused by a tired mind!

Generally used the paths a lot in a very physical area, both in terms of climb and vegetation/ ground underfoot. Fourth team overall in the end. I picked up joint-4th, dropped the other guy by 45mins and generally held the distance to what was going on behind. Good team effort!
