Note

Physio today, massaged calf and area around achilles again, painful but he said there was much less tension than last week, also the company have just bought an aerofloor so I did some jumping on that but won't go into details, next appointment in 2 weeks.

Harvester, 2nd leg
Do not like night orienteering at all but it's good training and good relay practice, also someone had to do the long night leg...
Started quite steady and found number 1 fine but then had a nightmare to number 2, hit my attackpoint (huge obvious thicket) fine which was the other gaffel (seriously not fair!) but then couldn't find that depression anywhere, tried going in from the thicket a couple more times and in the end just stumbled across it, not really much of a depression and very well hidden under the vegetation, apparently other people found some tape in another (bigger) depression and think the control was wrong but it's hard to tell at night, anyway it went better after that, didn't lose much time on the other bingo controls which lots of people had problems with but did make a couple of other small mistakes, also probably lost a fair bit of time going straight to 22 through head high bracken, in the dark, interesting...

Hill reps again, same as last time except that my mum's bike has a flat tyre so I got out my old bike (which hasn't been ridden for years), blew up the tyres and raised the saddle as high as I could but it is way too small and the gears are awful and it is just generally slow, on the warm up and down it was so slow and the times for the reps are much slower than last time.

2:58 (ahr 180, mhr 191)
Absolutely awful! I was planning to do 5 at about 2:40 pace which I was doing last year but after the first one my pace dropped and I couldn't do anything about it, don't know whether I've lost fitness with my training being all over the place for the last 10 weeks or whether it was because my legs felt tired and heavy (from Sunday's cycling hill reps), I guess a combination, but I don't think I've ever run an intervals session so badly!
Jog and drills to warm up and a long warm down.
