Note
(rest day)

Landed at Manchester late Sunday night and travelled the rest of the way back to Durham in the morning and just made it in time for my first lecture! Really busy day, wanted to go for a jog but I didn't get the chance. Legs feeling tired from the weekend.

JEC relay, 2nd leg
Katie had a great run to send me out in 6th (1 team mp so actually 5th), big gap behind first 3 teams and I went out 30s behind the other 2 with more right behind me, really good race all the way, couldn't tell what was going on as there were so many people around and lots of gaffling but I led the pack for quite a while which was exciting, didn't really make any mistakes and after spectator some of us pulled away on the gaffles, I was 1st of the pack into the 2nd last control and handed over 2nd in the pack which was 3rd over all. Meg did a great job to bring us home in 5th behind 1 team each from Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and Norway which is amazing given that some countries had 4 teams! Such a fun relay and such a good result!

JEC long, w20, 25th
First loop was good except for 30s mistakes at 5 and 9 but then I made a big mistake at 11, maybe got over-confident and lost focus, after that the butterflies went well and the next loop up to spectator but by this point I was exhausted, the course was so long and it was really hot and I lost it after spectator, lost 45s on 27 and then a big mistake on 28, so stupid and would never have happened earlier in a race, then another 30s lost at 29, pulled myself together for the last few controls but lost a lot of time in total. Can't explain the big mistakes and really disappointed with them but there were a lot of controls and most of them went really well!

Running warm up/down 13:00 [2] 2.2 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #2

jog, drills and strides, then jog from pre-start

Orienteering race 15:18 [5] 3.5 km (4:22 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #2

JEC sprint, w20, 25th
Quite straightforward, few hesitations, 15s lost at 7 going in a path early but on the whole a pretty good run, don't have the speed right now to be fighting at the top although my min/km would have put me 4th on the w18 course, obviously you can never compare different courses but I do wonder where I would have come on w18. Anyway not particularly happy with this run but not unhappy either, weird time of year to be racing but it's another international race behind me.
(Allowed to wear garmins if you tape the screen but my garmin locked itself before I started, Lucy ran 3.5km)

Running warm up/down 7:38 [2] 1.23 km (6:12 / km)

Note
(rest day)

Arrived at the accommodation quite late so ran out of time to go to the model area, I probably should have gone for a little jog but I was so tired!
