Running 30:00 [1]

A little jog round the park, cut short by the fact my legs were feeling a bit heavy and didn't want to go up the hill for another lap. Oh, and the fact I was late for work. Doh.

MTB race 3:00:00 [3]

Quantock mudfest I mean er trailquest.

To be fair, it's a great area for it - lots of route choice with no obvious right answer, great views, 99% off road and traction was pretty good even in the mud (though that could have had something to do with the bike in front splashing all the gloopy mud out of the way.... onto me).

Fitness woeful but that's to be expected... somewhere along the line my dictionary has lost the word 'training' (and 'salad').

We'll ignore the fact that me'n'team mate almost came to blows over our differing fitness/skill levels (say no more...) and the fact he'd spent half the car journey down boasting that trailquesters spent too much time faffing round navigating, and then proceeded to ... faff around navigating. With the assistance of the 'nose compass' (as in following one's....). Occasionally. Sometimes. Luv ya too darlin' xx

Orienteering race 1:37:00 [2]

Hmmm methinks every event for the next 3-4 months will be followed by the word 'mudfest'.

So, Flaxley mudfest. Counting up afterwards, there were only about 2 controls out of 12 that I didn't cock up big time, either by poor route choice (BRAMBLE ATTACK!!!), not being accurate enough and going round in circles trying to find that holy grail, a 'platform' (BRASHING ATTACK!!!) or just generally wandering off in the wrong direction. Good good. Oh well, it was one of those areas where you either got it right, or spectacularly wrong... people were getting 15 minute errors on one control and finishing - shock horror - after me!!!!!!

But I beat an 'old adversary' which made my day.... especially as I overtook this person looking lost on the run in to the finish hehehe :D
