JWOC Relay 2016 - leg 1

A way better performance and experience than last year. I was feeling the hills but managed to keep the pace and stick with the mid pack for most of the race. Navigation was pretty clean too! :) a great way to end another incredible JWOC week!

JWOC Midlle B final

I got a way better warm up today so that helped me get into the zone and focus.
This race went super well! I took the first one pretty slowly to get into the map, and then 2 was cautious because it was a tricky place to have to relocate.
Other than that it was just some double checking in the circle and slowness because of the slick conditions. I was running with a NZ girl for almost the whole race, but we'd keep taking slightly different routes and meet up again.
Happy with 10th place finish :)

JWOC Middle Q 2016

A mediocre race. Lost way too much time on #2 where I just couldn't match up the vegetation or the features. I also lost some time on 10 where there was just a lot happened and 12 when I just got a little brain dead. 3-7 went perfectly though. I picked safe routes and looked up a lot so that's good. Also got into the B final I'm happy about that. Goodluck to Pia in the A final! :D

JWOC Long 2016

Took this race one step at a time and ran pretty clean! The only mistakes were just hesitations in the CP circle. (granted I was trying to stay on track so I wouldn't have to relocate.) 4-5 was a sketchy downhill long leg and I twisted me bad ankle (ouchie). Then the uphill trek was hard but my breathing was never too bad. Generally it was a good race, and a nice improvement from last year! :)

JWOC Sprint 2016!

Kicked off the week with a great technical sprint in Scuol!
The first 1/3 of this race went so well - I went out fast and my nav was fast too. Through 1-5, I was planning ahead, keeping flow and staying relaxed. Then it was the long leg and that got me a little flustered. I took the route through the park after reading very intensely because there was so much going on.
I ran right past 7 because I had missed a corner so I had to double back a little. 8-11 were good, but I was super tired going uphill to 10.
The spectator loop got me totally confused so I slowed down a little more. I wasn't sure where I ended at the end of the loop, so I lost some time there. The park was also confusing with trying to see where all of the fences ended plus my legs were dead.

Pretty pleased though with a spot only 2 behind last year!!
