Drove to Lake Louise and hiked up behind the lake to Little Beehive. A good climb and panoramic views!

Running 28:30 [2] 4.3 km (6:38 / km)

Dragged my jet-lagged butt out the door to try and clear up my nose. Wonderful post-rainstorm smells but awfully muggy outside. Threw 8 strides in there to get my legs moving again.

Back home! ... Well for one night...
Got a pretty sore throat and a stuffy nose on the plane ride today so I really hope it doesn't get worse.

SOW Day 5

Well. This was an epic day... After the long and (very) uphill walk to the start, I got chilled but I figured I'd warm up when I started running. The organizers were moving up the starts so that everyone went out by no later than 12. I started and totally blew up the first CP. I was cold and couldn't focus. I finally found it after too long, and headed off to 2. Couldn't find that one either and by then I was starting to get really cold. My arms were gettin red as the wind and rain started up. Decided to make my way to 11 and do the last 3 CPs and head to the finish. It just got colder and colder and then the fog/clouds settled in. Less than 10m visibility at some points. This kinda freaked me out so when I finally got to the finish I just kept on running right back to the arena. A little shaken up from this race and lots of cold muscles cramps, but glad to be nice and warm now :)

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2] 0.97 km (6:11 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280 (2)

Fricken freezing cool down run from finish to arena. I've never ran downhill so fast

The portion of the way to the start that I actually ran... the other 100something metres of climb was a no for me

SOW Day 4

Well, the race stared off by throwing us right up a huge hill to the start triangle - urg.
After that, the first bit of the course made zero sense to me. It was tough running with lots on the ground, and I kinda just stumbled upon my CP without really knowing how I got there...
After a super pretty trail run beside a lake, I go to the next marshy section which was super fun and way easier running. Then onto the field section which was tiring, but a little easier.
Overall, an enjoyable course, virtually no mistakes! Only time lost from lugging my body up too many hills!

(rest day)

Fun hike with some Canucks up Mouttas Muragl! Took the funicular up, hike around the valley and next mountain along a contour, and then took the chairlift down. About 6.5km of panoramic views - amazing!
