Day 18&19.

Running 50:00 [2] 8.06 km (6:12 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 9

Churchill trails over to Mac with Alex and Tomas. Once we got to Mac they did some Sprint stuff but I brought the routechoice they had make and did some laps while planning route -though leg!
Also did a 'faster' 800 and then 400m on the snowy track. Hard stuff.
Really nice day though and we saw a lot of friendly deer!

1 exam to go!!

Note

If anyone has any recommendations of GoreTex trail shoes that they love - let me know !! (Preferably not Solomon though because they hurt my feet :( )

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 6.04 km (9:56 / km) +146m 8:52 / km
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280 (2)

Logging this as a 3 because it was hella hard work!

Had planned on training with the Alex and Tomas but they arrived later than planned and I had to get back to studying so I did my own thing instead.
Started with 10 mins of relocation with Hammer, and then ran a couple legs from a course from Nationals 2013.
The snow was quite the slog - about mid calf deep with a layer of ice on the top. My shins took quite a beating, especially on the downhills. At one point it was so painful i debated if I could you down backwards but decided against that idea. But other than that it was lovely weather and nice open woods meant you could see forever.
Since I was going slowly because of the snow, I made sure to look up a lot, read everything and visualize it in the terrain.
Good stuff.

Route to Xmas day 16

Running 1:06:00 [2] 12.48 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 9

To Mac along ravine road, rail trial, and back home along the trails. Rail trail is boring but the other trails are pretty icy under a little layer of snow so best to play it safe.

Running 1:03:00 [1] 10.9 km (5:47 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 9

Rail trail to Monarch and back with Soren. Nice sunny morning but crazy winds and a windchill of -23C. Lovely.
Tried out the adjustment in my orthotics in these shoes. Felt okay but foot was sore after and the blisters are still there. Sigh.
