So there was no snow in Villars to go skiing so we started on a little hike and then decided why not go and try and do the long distance course from JEC at the top of the mountain? It can’t be THAT snowy up there if it’s so rainy down here, right?

WRONG

At 1800m, there was a hecka lotta snow up there! An average of knee deep in the woods but up to mid thigh in the clearings. Snowshoes would have been nice...

Anyways, super cool area even if we were going at snail pace. Features were easy to find and it was so calm and lovely in the woods. Fun stuff!

Good long ski at Ovronnaz! Some slick parts but also some sticky parts made it tiring but there was a lovely section that we did a few times. Followed by pizza and some relaxing time in a thermal pool in the mountains. Still not over it.

I don’t normally log hiking but this was STEEP and we were running/sliding back down.

After this we had lunch and then visited the Callier chocolate factory... *heart eyes*

Ski at Col des Mosses. Started out nice with a little snow but then it got really windy and there was slush coming down pretty much horizontally. We called it quits and then went for a hike instead.
My ankles are DYING these new ski boots need to break in already.

AMAZING ski in Villars-sur-Ollon! A LOT of climbing at about 1400-1600m altitude so I was dying but the views were WORTH IT.

A late afternoon ski along one of the trails we were on in the morning, but from the other side. I was STRUGGLING with the climb and the altitude oh my. Downhill to the finish was good fun :)
Followed by a much needed sauna!

Nice training at Serroue focusing on compass. It was slick in the woods from rain so it was pretty slow. But some nice open parts were fun! Mistakes on 3 and 9.
Then my lower leg started hurting pretty badly, as it was in the summer. But my knee was okay!

A v snowy slow ski at Vue des Alpes again. This time, we didn’t see the Alps, lol. Uphill almost the whole waymeant we were dying and couldn’t see but the downhill finish was fun :)

First ski at Vue des Alpes in Switzerland! Foggy on the way up but the wind cleared the clouds away for stellar sunny views!!
The first 20mins I felt like crap with the fact that I haven’t trained recently and the altitude but after that I felt good and knee wasn’t sore!

Little evening course with the Neuchâtel juniors after a little presentation by yours truly. It was a little green but fun regardless! Got tripped up at the end of the 2nd loop.
