Adventure with Leif, Afan and Glenda! Perfect day for it.
Felt a-ok after the vaccine. The estimated ~36 hours of feeling totally bricked was about right.

Note
(rest day)

Overnight last night was pretty rough after Moderna dose 2. Was freezing, had the shivers and aches, and really bad headaches. Finally got to sleep and slept about 5 hours overnight. Took a Advil which really helped my mild fever and now I mainly just have a splitting headache, mild congestion and a tight chest. And also tired AF.

Leggies needed a little spin out after yesterday.
First time at Mt Mac, definitely a very different terrain from the last few rides. A lot more rock, making me feel like I’m back at GN in places. Good place to work on some skills. Lots of stopping to figure out where the heck I was... trail forks GPS is questionable.

COCs 2018 Middle M21E re-run.
Man, I really missed out not racing this in 2018... stupid shin pain!
Super fun course. Clean nav aside from a big Oof at #8. Came from the technical stuff into a bland area and was not strong enough on my compass. Lost a lot of time here.
Small hesitation at #10, didn’t check my control description.
The area around the spectator loop/finish was super fun and so open... could fly in there!
My navigation in this terrain in coming back, jsut have to work on the speed and hill climbing (ouch).

In other news, got vaccine #2 this afternoon, so we will see how I feel this weekend.

What a day! A nice WT training sesh. Cantlie Lake Rd was a nice ATV trail with major AR vibes - rough loose rocks and lots of big puddles. Girlfriend had a few drops that were a little too much for my skills at this point, but fun to learn how to use a dropper for the first time. Then came to Juicy and the Yukon River Trail - long ridge trail which was super sweet.
Pretty pooched from some tough climbs out there, and from admiring the view so much!

Note

Team Canada Orienteering is doing a fundraiser! Control Bounty - for the month of June, I will record the number of controls I visit. My goal is (at least) 200 controls. You can pledge any amount you wish to encourage me to get out to as many controls as I can!
Your support helps me and my teammates train, race, travel (when permitted), and represent Canada! Thank you!
More info here: https://sites.google.com/view/controlbounty/home

Biathlon- O!
Went for the more-running-less-shooting option to try and make up for the fact that I only hit 2 targets after 3 rounds .. 1 of them was the smaller target so I’m proud of that at least!
Perhaps could have done some more if I hadn’t gone for the very far one, but fun orienteering regardless.
I don’t think I’ll be switching sports any time soon ... :P

Pre- coaching course. Made myself a course with some longer legs in bland stuff and fun short legs in some contour spaghetti. Got pushed around a lot by the big depression at CP 3 and couldn’t figure out if I was in the right spot. Fun terrain, getting much more used to it.
