Classic ski on Beaver and Otter with Hammer! Hip flexors were so tired from this weekend that picking my skis up to corner was difficult, but the sunshine was lovely!

OUA Relay - Leg 3!!!! Couldn’t keep the pace for 3rd place in the relay, but managed to hold off the others and place the team 4th! My fave got so incredibly cold that for the last 500m my contacts froze in my eyeballs and I could barely see a thing! Stayed upright though!
Biggest plot twist was the women’s team coming third overall!! Great varsity career send off :)) Super proud of this team

OUA Classic race! Rough time in the mass start, very boxed in and struggled to pass without getting cut off. Face completely froze in the blowing snow on lap 1. But really happy with my second lap, and passing a lot of people on the hills! 24th place :)

OUA skate race - 19th place, about 2:42 mins behind the winner. Pretty happy with this race. The start was a little shaky with fast skis and tight corners, trying to find my balance. Got into a good groove on the long uphill and felt super strong. Caught up to a bunch of girls at the long flat ish back of the course which allowed me to give a little more push. My goal had been to have only 2-5% left in my tank at the big hill around 6.5km, and then hang on for the last bit. I definitely met this goal, but my legs were so spent and jello-y that they couldn’t even keep me up on the next downhill and I took a quick spill. Hard to get a fast groove on the twisty trails in the last 500m and my shins started cramping, but I pushed hard to the end. Overall very pleased and great improvement from last year!
