Planned on doing just the short advanced course at today’s meet but they ran out of maps so I switched to the long. Right from the start we were thrown into a 90deg bearing from the start triangle through thick green - felt like I was just venturing into the bush hoping to find the bingo control. Missed a bit and lost about 1:25 trying to bash through bushes covered in pollen to find it. I started thinking that I was maybe just gonna call it quits at this point but I decided to put in my big girl pants and keep going.
Near miss on 3, really not sure what was going on with the map there. Then somehow managed to drift way off my bearing to 4 and not check my compass on a trail 90 deg to the one I wanted.
The rest was decent besides 9 being confusing AF and 6 being in the wrong spot.
Decided to skip the northern loop because it just looked green and flat, glad I did.

I think I’ll stick to ski orienteering here.

Full rest day today. My hip is feeling better than last week’s flare up. However last night I smashed my shin on the edge of my bedframe and now it hurts when I bend my knee and go up stairs :/
