Swimming in different pool. Different swimmers to pace. First time in over a year I've been passed by anyone. Found out later he set 2 Canadian records for the mile at a meet last wkend. Felt great to have only been passed by him twice in my training session.
Going to run this same route for several days to try to pick up speed. It's a really hilly and challenging route but also lots of traffic going by for motivation.
A faster swim. Always swim better when my 2 training buddies are in the lane with me. I try to see how many times I can pass them, and they try to keep ahead of me. I also race the swim team teenagers in the lane beside me. Today I held most of them for at least 10 feet. When I'm swimming 1.5 kms and they're doing 50 m repeats, that's not bad.
Run from our home along the old hwy and then up and down the south mtn. If this route doesn't kill you it makes you stronger. I use to get physically sick years ago just anticipating this run. Now I look forward to it and try to run it faster every time.
