From East Portal, up South Boulder Creek trail to Roger's Pass, then up to summit of James Peak. For MA's birthday outing (w/ Berlin), we had hoped to press on towards Berthoud Pass, but she has a pretty badly tweaked knee. So we turned around and headed back to Roger's Pass, then onto Rollins Pass. Best weather of the month - a spectacular day in fact. That is a beautiful pass to pass traverse... gentle, rolling peaks along the continental divide, and tremendous views all around. Iceberg Lakes: especially lovely. After we hit the pass, MA's knee to a dive south, so we bushwhacked down the slope immediately W of Needle Eye Tunnel (and NE of Jenny Lake), and hitched a very long, very very bumpy ride down Rollins Pass Road in the back of a pick up truck with some United Airlines employees.
Great day (minus the injuries). I felt pretty good but my head cold and hamstring issue persists.
