2 PM

Running 2:00:00 [3] 9.0 mi (13:20 / mi) +2700ft 10:23 / mi
shoes: Pearl Izumi N2 Trail, #2

Some pretty fun cross country exploration on W slopes of Walker Mtn. My standard route up the Cloudline, then over on FS track 509. Then, offtrail down a new gully (saw a big moose and lots of flood blowout) down 3/4 of the way to James Creek. Climbed back up and went up and over the ridge (still off trail) before I finally hit the track that climbs back up to Gold Hill Lake Rd. Back down the cloudline...

Ran most of it except the xc portions (a couple of miles worth).

Warm weekend....

Hiking 8:00:00 [3] 16.0 mi (30:00 / mi) +4700ft 23:28 / mi
shoes: Pearl Izumi N2 Trail, #2

From East Portal, up South Boulder Creek trail to Roger's Pass, then up to summit of James Peak. For MA's birthday outing (w/ Berlin), we had hoped to press on towards Berthoud Pass, but she has a pretty badly tweaked knee. So we turned around and headed back to Roger's Pass, then onto Rollins Pass. Best weather of the month - a spectacular day in fact. That is a beautiful pass to pass traverse... gentle, rolling peaks along the continental divide, and tremendous views all around. Iceberg Lakes: especially lovely. After we hit the pass, MA's knee to a dive south, so we bushwhacked down the slope immediately W of Needle Eye Tunnel (and NE of Jenny Lake), and hitched a very long, very very bumpy ride down Rollins Pass Road in the back of a pick up truck with some United Airlines employees.

Great day (minus the injuries). I felt pretty good but my head cold and hamstring issue persists.
