Friday Jun 30

Monday Jun 26

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
Trail Run intervals 1:03:18 [5]
Ran four 1 mile intervals on a 10 minute cycle, I was doing well, descending and everything, 6:50, 6:48, 6:47, then the fourth one came along and beat me up, 6:59, yeech!

Addendum: Looking back these miles were about 10 seconds faster than the last set. Those of you who know, is this an average rate of improvement when doing regular intervals like this???

Sunday Jun 25

Kayaking 3:00:00 [3]
Here's a first! Whitewater Kayaking. Apparently it went well for my first time, even though i had to wet exit, and I couldn't get out of a spinning eddy without help...definitely interesting, we'll see what the future holds.
Trail Run 28:00 [2]
A recovery run with Maiya, who qualified for the World Military Tirathlon Championships in Sweden, yesterday!!

Saturday Jun 24

Road Ride 1:17:00 [4] 20.6 mi (3:43 / mi)
Rode two loops in the Garden from my house, the hills on the second loop were tough.

15.9 mph avg. 36.1 mph max. 1483 feet climb.

Friday Jun 23

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
Trail Run hills 1:00:18 [4]
Tried to do the Incline either near or at 30 minutes ... heh ... not quite, 34:11, but it was about two minutes faster than last time, so that's encouraging...

Monday Jun 19

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
Trail Run intervals 57:05 [5]
3rd time's a charm!

Intervals again, ran 6 aproximate 1K intervals, my times were about where I'd expect them to be for 1000 meters in the shape I'm in right now, which is fairly pitiful...

4:12, 4:01, 4:04, 4:10, 4:08 and ...

OK so I lost track and only ran five, ooops :)

Sunday Jun 18

Bike Commute 15:00 [2] 3.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
to volleyball
Volleyball 2:00:00 [3]

Bike Commute 1:00:00 [2] 12.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
...to work and then to a concert in the park downtown...

Tuesday Jun 13

Trail Run 47:45 [3]
Definitely felt tired after yesterday. In the Garden, at sunset!
Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)

Monday Jun 12

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
Trail Run intervals 53:36 [4]
Wow! Humidity, it rained here today and because the ground was so warm the humidity skyorcketed, for Colorado that is...

Intervals again, two weeks in a row! Did 8 hill intervals on a three minute cycle, it was a short but steep hill and numbers 7 and 8 were definitely hard. Another good monday!

Edit: 69% humidity's not bad...

Sunday Jun 11

Mtn. Bike Ride 2:20:00 [2] 30.0 mi (4:40 / mi)
Interesting fact, it is exactly 15 miles from my house to the north gate of the Air Force Academy, and it takes 1:10 both ways, there was a head wind on the downhill leg...average 12.8mph, max 23.8mph, 455' vertical.

Saturday Jun 10

Mountain Climbing 6:00:00 [3] 8.0 mi (45:00 / mi)
So I figured my first workout since the tooth removal be an easy hike...up a fourteener!! LaPlata to be specific, i worked on the way up and made the summit in just over three hours, 4176' of vertical, then back down in just under three hours, perfect weather as well...an awesome day!

Friday Jun 9

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)

Wednesday Jun 7

Note
(injured)
Having my remaining three wisdom teeth pulled today, it's going to be an interesting few days...Ow my head, Ow my head!!
C • yuck! 1

Tuesday Jun 6

Mtn. Bike Ride 1:08:00 [3] 7.4 mi (9:12 / mi)
The Palmer Trail in Bear Creek Canon
Average 6.5 mph Max 26.5 mph 1414' climb.

Monday Jun 5

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
Trail Run intervals 53:13 [5]
Good Day!!
Did 3 one mile intervals faster than i thought i'd be able to, I was afraid they'd be too embarrasing to post...
6:54, 6:53, and 6:49 at a 10 minute cycle, descending exactly the way they should be, also pretty good for not having done intervals for years and years, still nowhere near what i was running in high school, those were 5:45-50 at 5k race pace...yikes!

Sunday Jun 4

Mtn. Bike Ride 1:17:00 [3] 13.4 mi (5:44 / mi)
...without Maiya here to keep me out of trouble...well...

Avg 10.4 mph Max 26.7, 914ft climb.

Saturday Jun 3

Orienteering race 5:53:10 [4] ***
spiked:17/19c
A 6 hour Rogaine in the fire ravaged Buffalo Creek area, I had a crappy day of navigation and motivation, and yet somehow i still finished in the top 5 of over twenty, i haven't measured the distance yet, i need to find my wheel, and I dread counting the climb, there was a lot of it!! Overall a good day....
Note
Did the math on the Rogaine for today:
13.4 miles
840 points
2640 feet of climb!
No wonder I'm tired...

Thursday Jun 1

Bike Commute 30:00 [2] 6.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
almost got tagged by a car...yikes!
Trail Run 31:50 [3]
felt great yesterday, not so good today, I couldn't breathe properly, wasn't asthma thought, something else...had to cut my run by more than half!
