Tiomila damkavlen - Leg 1 for OK Linne 4.
Pretty nervous at the start! Started near the back so tried to get past people on the run out while also planning #1 ( partially successful!). Lots of gaffles and I had the furthest one so lost a bit of time thinking I had missed it. Ok to #2 and overtook more people on the path to #3 but then just missed my control and ran too far to the wrong gaffle. 4, 5, ,6 all fine, pleased I kept to my planned route for #6 as most people went left but probably had the other gaffle. Coming out of #6 a wild boar came running straight for us, which resulting in everyone sprinting away with quite a lot of screaming! Ended up with running straight down the reentrant and had to loop back to #7.
To #10 I should have taken the path route but everyone else went straight, then got confused on the hill top. It was annoying as I had nearly caught up OK Linne 3 at this point! THe last few controls where mostly path routes, the hill up to the last control was very hard work.
Glad to have survived first leg at my first Tiomila without any major disasters!

Tiomila finslip in Åland. Best orienteering I've done in ages it feels like. I kept the pace pretty slow and focussed on planning and keeping map contact. Only major mistake on 10 where I left 9 90' out so took a bad route choice into 10 and couldn't see the control behind a tree.
