Blue Day 2 of O in the Oaks at Joe Grant.

Felt dead and beaten from yesterday. Started out by messing up #1 which is starting to become a pattern. Then started running and navigating well although I chose a few slightly suboptimal routes through the steep terrain and fight. Was motivated to run hard on #7 to lose this westpoint guy i kept seeing. Basically I had a fine race except for multiple small mistakes and somewhat poor route choices. At least this was much better than yesterday.

It was a very physical course. I ended up exhausted and bruised. Had a couple of mistakes on the first few controls then started hitting them quickly. Then came the long leg. I ran well all the way into the circle, and even knew I was there, but couldn't find the control. I had to relocate twice, each time confirming that I was right about where I was. It turned out eventually that the control had fallen over against the rock in some tallish grass. That was very frustrating and turned an okay race into a bad one.
