Tarn Hows, brown.

Up to the lakes for a bit of flag chasing. Was actually orienteering properly and legs didn't feel as bad as expected after slogging it numerous times round Pines yesterday. Awesome area, a good mix of terrain and the bracken wasn't that bad at all really (was flagged as an issue in final details). Running similar speed to Malley but was 4 mins ahead due to him spooning up #16.

Run to elterwater after O. Amazing views, weather and then food at the Brit. Good times. Legs absolutely forked, had to walk a number of uphills, a few twinges from quads.

Hanging, shadowing people with a go pro and then first bit of collecting. Event went so well, couldn't believe nothing went wrong given all the complexities and number of parties involved. Seemed like everyone was buzzing. No one seemed to whinge about the brambles either.

final bits of collecting after garmin died and then recharged. Legs extremely tired by the end.

People can say what they want about Red Bull but after about 4 cans during Saturday, I've never felt so awake on a solo 3 hour dark car journey after 5 hours sleep and c50km running over the last 24 hours.

first batch of hanging in the dark. lots of deer. slightly delayed with the hanging as the event village creators had got a little confuddled with the location of the last control and erected two large marquees between the control and finish. oops! a good solution was found next day though.
