Clive Tant's Joss Naylor Leg #1

Was surprisingly awake for 4am despite 3 hours kip and poor sleep during the week. A bit of faff on the way to the first checkpoint, losing 5 minutes, partly due to some dodgy lines from my navigation. I was getting a bit worried, but then we started slowly chipping away at the schedule and ended 10 minutes up by Dunmail. Clive was moving really well across all the terrain types (especially the uphills), and even carried his own water and food so minimal weight was carried by Hazel and I.

Weather much better than forecast, just a reasonably strong W wind to keep us on our toes and my right cheek cold.

An awesome experience overall, from starting off in the dark, seeing sunrise and being at Kirkstone pass for 8am, having seen no one on the whole leg.

Clive Tant's Joss Naylor Leg #3

After a nice 3 hour break, back on it with leg 3. Didn't manage to get any snoozing of any significance, but was surprisingly awake again after half a litre of coke.

Another good leg saw Clive about 20 minutes ahead of schedule at the end of leg 2, so looking good overall. Sun started to pierce the clouds, but still a W wind which seemed to get a bit stronger now so still OMM jacket, buff and gloves most of the time.

No navigational faff on this leg, thought I got us a good line up to Rosset Pike (I got caught up in some boulders doing Sarah's BG here) and managed to follow the Bowfell line fine too.

Clive still moving really well and my legs still feeling OK, although not great on some of the jolty descents.

Up to Middle Fell and over a bit to catch Clive at the end of the 4th leg. He continued to smash it overall, with no real issues, and was still keeping a good shuffle on over this last leg. 16.5 hours total, so 1.5 within the required time for "completion".
